Croeso i Gymru!
Nestled amongst 100s of acres of working farmland, West Wales Retreat is truly a place of tranquillity, space and freedom. Located in this rural farmland is the 8-acre smallholding Gilfachweddog, in which Bwthyn Gilfach is situated. Quite literally, the old-Welsh Gilfachweddog is translated as ‘the house of a newly married couple’, as researched in the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth.
With the River Aeron passing through the Gilfachweddog smallholding, West Wales Retreat in Felinfach offers you peace and quiet with the luxury of being 5 miles to the coastal resort of Aberaeron and 5 miles the other way to the historic Lampeter, the oldest University establishment in Wales.
For drivers of electric cars, Bwthyn Gilfach has a socket / untethered 3.5 kW Type 2 electric vehicle charge point available for use. We use the Tap Electric app so that drivers can access the charger and a QR code is available on arrival so users can connect to it directly. The Tap Electric app can be downloaded in advance HERE.
Croeso i Gymru!
Yn swatio ymysg cannoedd o erwau o dir fferm, mae Encilfa Gorllewin Cymru yn lle o lonyddwch, gofod a rhyddid go iawn. Mae tyddyn wyth erw Gilfachweddog wedi'i leoli yn y tiroedd fferm gwledig hyn, sy'n gartref i Fwthyn Gilfach. Yn ôl gwaith ymchwil yn Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru, Aberystwyth, ystyr yr hen enw Cymraeg 'Gilfachweddog', yn llythrennol, yw 'tŷ pâr sydd newydd briodi'.
Gydag Afon Aeron yn llifo trwy dyddyn Gilfachweddog, mae Encilfa Gorllewin Cymru yn Felin-fach yn cynnig heddwch a thawelwch i chi, a hynny law yn llaw â'r moethusrwydd o fod pum milltir i ffwrdd o dref glan môr Aberaeron, a phum milltir i'r cyfeiriad arall o dref hanesyddol Llanbedr Pont Steffan, sydd â'r sefydliad Prifysgol hynaf yng Nghymru.
