Finding Us

West Wales Retreat and Bwthyn Gilfach is situated in the small village of Felinfach, between Lampeter and Aberaeron in Ceredigion, West Wales. Ceredigion does not have any motorways and the nearest railway station is Aberystwyth, some 20 or so miles away. Therefore, travelling to Bwthyn Gilfach for the first time is all part of the journey to our rural setting.

If using what3words, 'blazing.frogs.makeovers' will bring you right to the holiday cottage.

If driving, our postcode is SA48 8BG, though the same postcode is shared by many properties in the area. A sat nav will only get you to within half a mile of us, therefore, follow the instructions below:

From Lampeter direction

Travel on the A482 (Lampeter Road) towards Aberaeron. To check that you are heading in the right direction on your journey to us, make sure that you pass the entrance to The Falcondale hotel and restaurant on your left, Ivor Thomas and Sons Car Dealers and Dismantlers on your right and The New Celtic Lakes on your left.

If you are using a sat nav, this should say that that you have reached your destination shortly after passing the Fronfelen Arms on your left. This is in Temple Bar, the village before Felinfach. Carry on past D Jenkins and Sons on your right but start to slow down as you make a decent and the road bears right. Instead of bearing right, turn left into the layby, at which point you should see a wrought iron signpost above the cattle grid with three property names on it. Gilfachweddog is the top property listed. Carry on along the concrete road, passing one property to your left and another on your right. The road turns into an unmade road at the top of which is Gilfachweddog and Bwthyn Gilfach.

If you see a sign saying that you have entered Felinfach, you have gone too far! Please give us a call and we will guide you in.

From Aberaeron direction

Travel on the A482 (Lampeter Road) towards Lampeter. You may see the entrance to the National Trust Llanerchaeron and Theartr Felinfach on your left as you pass through the villages Ciliau Aeron and Ystrad Aeron.

Come through Ystrad Aeron, passing the petrol station and primary school on your left. As you come out of the village past the school, the road descends and you will see a layby on the right. Turn into the layby, at which point you should see a wrought iron signpost above the cattle grid with three property names on it. Gilfachweddog is the top property listed. Carry on along the concrete road, passing one property to your left and another one on your right. The road turns into an unmade road at the top of which is Gilfachweddog and Bwthyn Gilfach.

If you see a sign saying that you have entered Temple Bar, you have gone too far! Please give us a call and we will guide you in.
